Creech Heath was a strange layout really in that it was technically a club layout except I was the only one who really ever did anything on it. In hindsight, it was never really that good an idea and in many ways was really built as I was finding my feet as a railway modeller. Embarrassingly a great deal was inspired by James Hilton's Creech Bottom even down to the name. Still, it is a part of my modelling history and as such I think worth including.
I don't have many pictures of the finished layout but these are the closest I could find.
This was the first time I finished an OO9 layout and in that respect something to be proud of, and I always liked the colouring.
The baseboard was a funny thing in that it was made solely from balsa and foam board and in that respect lasted far longer than it should've done.
I believe the layout is still at said club premises in a state of mild dereliction, although I think a little TLC could probably bring it up to a nice standard one day.
It's funny really because I got far closer to finishing this layout with all its flaws than many other projects that were far better thought out.
