So one side is showing improvement, the other isn't.
Having said I would leave it, I couldn't help myself and started tinkering. I felt it might be worth persisting with it before stripping the whole thing.
Unfortunately it seems on one side the paint wasn't fully cured. Luckily my layout plans are all to be viewed from one side!
This does, however, allow me to experiment with the faded livery idea I previously spoke about. So not all a disaster.
The other side is much more positive because it took the lacquer much better and I was able to also add a black wash later.
I'm hoping I might be able to achieve an oily rag style finish.
Having talked it over I have a good idea of some steps I might be able to take to improve the model and get it looking half decent, so watch this space.
